Orbital Research Announces ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Burnaby, British Columbia, June 4, 2018 – Orbital Research Ltd., a leader in high-performance frequency conversion products for SATCOM industries, today announced they have been certified under ISO 9001:2015 as of May 28, 2018.

Meeting international quality standards

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 is the most updated standard of its kind and specifies requirements for quality management systems and performance. It assists companies in developing a management system that aligns quality with their wider business strategy. There is a focus on risk-based thinking and accountability in all organizational processes that helps enhance communications, efficiency, and implementation of continuous improvement.

Performing at the highest levels of quality and efficiency

“We are excited to earn certification to ISO 9001:2015 and feel it provides additional assurance to our customers that we are focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction,” said Orbital’s VP of Operations Wes Hallam. “Our move to ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates our desire to always perform at the highest levels of quality and efficiency. It’s essential to delivering innovative, high quality and customer-focused products and solutions to our customers. It’s also our first step towards our goal of achieving AS9100 accreditation.”

For any company, the road to certification requires time and commitment. Orbital began their internal preparation for ISO 9001:2015 certification in March of 2017, by evaluating their existing procedures and aligning them with the new requirements. SAI Global then performed the certification audit in January 2018.
