Orbital
Design:
The
Triband unit integrates three Block
Downconverters (BDCs), into a single
rack-mount chassis to cover the entire band.
The European (10.95~11.70 GHz), the
North American (11.70~12.25 GHz), and the DBS
(12.20~12.75), provide full spectrum coverage.
General Description
The 1RU, 19 inch rack mount Ku-band block downconverter assembly
translates RF inputs in the 10.95~12.75 GHz Ku
band to IF outputs in L-band in three manually
switchable bands.
The converters contain internal crystal
controlled, high stability frequency
references, and as an option, all crystal
oscillators can be constantly powered up to
optimized long-term stability.
Inputs are microwave relay switched to
optimize isolation between units, and
non-selected units will have their local VCO
oscillators powered down to minimize spurious
and in-band intefererence.
Redundant BDC designs are also available in varying configurations,
Orbital redundant switch included,

Orbital
Flexibility:
Engineered
using the highest quality components insures
you from failure due to environmental extremes
such as arctic cold, Saharan heat, and
rain-forest humidity. Our LNB is
protected from man-made conditions such as
chock, vibration, low power, over-voltage,
surges, transients, and static
discharge. Performance is consistent and
replacements will match or exceed your
original device.
"Mass-Custom"
Solution
Orbital
starts with the proven performance product
that is extremely well engineered with the
development costs amortized over thousands of
units and the parts costs reduced by volume
discounts. We then customize the mass
produced DRO LNB into an external reference
version at 1/100 the cost of designing and
building from scratch. |
